Former scrumhalf for the FNB UFS Shimlas and FNB NMMU Madibaz, Enrico Acker hales from Mossel Bay in the Southern Cape where he attended Hartenbos Primary School and Outiniqua High School respectively.

After school he kicked off his tertiary career at the University of the Free State, where he spent three years playing FNB Varsity Cup rugby and completing a B.A Degree in Human Movement Sciences.

During 2013 and 2014 Enrico obtained a B.Com Honours in Business Management from the University of South Africa and a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

But the dedicated young man was not quite done yet and had one more ace up his sleeve.  In 2015 he enrolled for a B.Com Masters at NMMU which he passed with flying colours.

“During my rugby playing days studying was always important to me.  I realised a rugby career can’t last forever, and as an FNB Varsity Cup player for multiple universities, I worked hard and obtained multiple qualifications.  I am really grateful for the opportunities rugby afforded me.” says Acker.

“I will be working hard towards becoming an investment portfolio manager over the next few years.  My experiences as a rugby player taught me a lot and shaped me into the determined, hard working, disciplined person I am today.  I will treasure my FNB Varsity Cup memories forever.” he concluded.
